Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is the premier performance ensemble at NHS. Membership in this ensemble is by audition only. Students in the Wind Ensemble are expected to be the top musicians in the school on their instrument, and are highly encouraged to take private lessons. The Wind Ensemble consists of modern band instrumentation and provides instruction in common-practice period and twenty-first century wind literature and transcriptions. The Wind Ensemble is a class that meets every school day and performs several concerts and festivals each year.​

The Newsome Wind Ensemble earned a superior rating at district concert band M.P.A. in 2014-2020, and in 2015 and 2017 a superior rating at state concert band M.P.A.!
